The threat we face from terrorism is significant. As we have seen in the UK and across Europe attacks can happen at any time and any place without warning. Understanding the threat we all face and of the ways we can mitigate it can help keep us safer.

The head of NaCTSO, Richard Harding, has given an update on the terrorist and extremist threats to the UK. He writes to make several recommendations and to encourage your continued assistance in supporting the joint efforts to create a safe and secure environment in which to conduct business. In his briefing he signposts the NaCTSO Crowded Places Guidance and other useful resources.

This document provides protective security advice and covers the key forms of protective security: physical, personnel, cyber and personal. It helps give guidance on how different sectors can act to help make their business, institutions or organisations safer.
